they get it!
It has been one of those weeks where I have had the privilege of realizing that amazing things are happening in the hearts of my growing children (12-26). The eldest 7 are boys - teens and early twenties. I can truly say along with the writer of III John 1:4 when he says, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." I have listened to their hearts, prayed for them and with them, and seen growth in them that just touches me deeply. Lights are going on and words are becoming heart realities to them. Details seem unimportant, but I will say that this crop was planted many years ago and has required constant attention through those years. It has come with great cost - sacrifice - tears - staying the course when no one was with us - staying in the game when they were not getting the game plan. I want to just say, "Thank you Lord for planting in my life through my parents - thank you for giving them the idea of raising a family who loves the Lord - thank you for the whole idea of family - and now thank you for continuing the work in these children you have allowed us to nurture." You really are perfect, Father - the one from whom we learn and receive all that we need to stay in the game.
Now friends, don't give up in the process of planting and tending your vineyards. There will be a crop one day...down the road of this journey called life. Find the joy in it.

What a great picture, Joy. I sure do miss you all so much!! I think I should put the picture on my screen saver to remind me to stay the course. You guys are such a great example!!
I agree with mrs. prego-what a great picture!! You are so inspiring. You are a natural at this blogging stuff. Have you ever thought of writing a book??
Joy, I enjoy reading what you write, because it sounds just like you. You, and your perspective on things, is such a blessing to me. I rejoice with you in the fruit you've seen this week, and also am encouraged in my own parenting.
Your well planted, fed and watered garden is at all different stages of bearing fruit. It also bears witness of a seasoned gardener that walks in the counsel of the Creator. May we all glean joy for our journeys, as we are blessed by your sharing.
